Identical to its mined counterpart, a lab-grown diamond invigorates the same fire and brilliance you would expect to see in a natural diamond – except that it’s made using sustainable practices. Lab-grown diamonds are grown in highly controlled laboratory environments using technology that duplicates the conditions in which diamonds naturally form under the Earth's crust. They are chemically, optically and atomically identical to mined diamonds except with a different origin story. We've replaced the mines with machines. Man made diamonds have the same physical, chemical and optical properties as mined diamonds. In fact most lab grown diamonds are type 2a, meaning they have the best structure to give the best shine. Only less than 2% of all natural mined diamonds are type 2a as other elements get trapped in the carbon when they are crystalizing.
Why should you choose a lab-grown diamond?
- It's conflict free.
- Our diamonds don't create war, just love.
- The process of lab-grown diamonds is not labour intensive.
- The working conditions in a lab-grown diamond factory are conducive and healthy.
- Lab-grown diamonds are better for the environment.
- Laboratories use a fraction of the energy as compared to the energy used during mining.
- Lab-grown diamonds are far more affordable than natural diamonds.
- At ROCKRUSH, we have no middlemen. This makes our lab-grown diamonds even more economical as compared to others.
- Jewelry at ROCKRUSH is crafted from recycled metals to reduce the impact of mining.
- Mining contaminates drinking water, can harm workers, generates tonnes of waste, leaves long-lasting scars on landscapes and affects communities. Which is why, recycling metals helps avoid these harmful repercussions and helps us give back to the society and the Earth at large.
- Gold, platinum and palladium can be recycled several times without affecting the quality of the metal.

Product Care
Caring for your lab-grown diamonds is as important as investing in a quality stone. Although lab grown diamonds are known to be one of the hardest stones, they can be scratched and chipped if due care is not taken. Here’s what you need to do to ensure your jewelry stays sparkling:
- Remove your jewelry during manual tasks like cooking, cleaning, gardening or moving furniture to avoid any physical damage.
- Don’t expose your lab grown diamonds to chemicals like cleaning fluids.
- Wear your jewelry only after putting on your makeup, hairspray, perfumes and lotions. These contain chemicals that can damage or create a build-up on your jewelry.
- Remove your jewelry before diving into chlorinated water or at the spa. This is because exposure to chlorine weakens a ring’s alloy and can cause structural damage.
- Avoid contact sports. Any hard blows can be damaging to your lab grown diamonds, so we strongly recommend removing all jewelry beforehand.
- Wearing two rings on one finger can cause friction and damage. We recommend soldering the two rings together or limiting one ring to one finger.

Cleaning & Care
- The best tool for cleaning is a soft toothbrush, warm soapy water and a lint-free cloth.
- Let your jewelry soak in warm soapy water for a few minutes.
- Brush your jewelry to remove trapped dirt or grime.
- Don’t forget to scrub the underside of your stone gently.
- Rinse and clean with warm water.
- Pat dry with a soft cloth.
- Use a jewelry polishing cloth for the best results.
- Inspect your jewelry regularly to address any signs of damage or lost stones.
- If you feel uncomfortable cleaning, send us your jewelry for a free professional cleaning.

Only in the past few years has it become technologically possible to produce gem-quality lab-grown diamonds of commercially significant size and weight. And today, the annual production of pure lab-grown diamonds is only a few thousand carats, whereas the total production of natural diamonds is around 120 million carats per annum.
The good news is that we are one of the leading producers of some of the best quality lab-grown diamonds in the market worldwide. What’s more? We believe in following the international standards when it comes to producing lab-grown diamonds. Which means that every time you purchase from ROCKRUSH, you are presented with the IGI certification that comes with your delivery.
The IGI & GIA Laboratory Grown Report provides the same information as the IGI Diamond Report, but the colour of the report is yellow. Additionally, the lab-grown diamond's girdle is laser inscribed with the report number as well as the word lab-grown to avoid any misrepresentation.
Whether it be natural or lab-grown, gemstones should always be accompanied by a certificate attesting to quality. Regardless of location or marketplace, an authentic IGI & GIA Laboratory Report is the common language of trust and confidence in the gemological world.
